Hydumps |
|
The Westward Jiffy 905 and
1105 hydumps have a lower center of gravity to improve stability on
uneven terrain; the shape of the box is designed to achieve larger
loads. The dump clearance is increased for trucks with taller sides
and the roof is designed for better distribution into the truck box.
The dump angle is 52° to
prevent sticky material from hanging up in the box and the end walls
are tapered to reduce hang-up. The running gear is designed to use
high floatation tires with the outer wheels to be filled with
chloride for greater stability reducing the possibility of the unit
contacting the truck box when dumping. |
 |
|
In order to accomplish the
improved stability and extended dumping clearances, the unit employs
a folding truss arrangement that allow a lower center of gravity
when in field position. With the truss extended, the box is raised
diagonally before the dumping action starts. This increases the
clearance of the box discharge to the ground as well as increasing
the clearance from the side of the hydump to the box of the truck.
